Day by day

Day 1. First day. Our life will never be the same.

We land in Windhoek’s Hosea Kutako, where we take a ride that will lead us to the first accommodation. We get ready for the adventure: going around the most ancient desert of the world, in which dinosaurs moved around 65 million years ago. We are given a safety talk and we go to bed with the certainty that our life will never be the same.

Day 2. The journey begins.

We reach Twyfelfontein, an area declared a UNESCO World Heritage. The area is formed by rocks over which our ancestors immortalized paintings and representations. You will get in touch with messages so antique that will turn your senses on. In the end, we will see that we are communicating with one part of us that lived in another place and time.

Days 3 and 4. On the Aba Huab and Huab rivers.

We continue our journey. We ride our horses through the rivers Aba Huab and Huab and climb the mountains to contemplate the outlook, to really watch the images that the horizon of bright sand, sun and sky give us back. Dinner will be at the rustic camps, immerse in nature, with fire lights that shines amid the darkness of the night.

Days 5 and 6. We change geography.

From the river to the plains, from the flowing to the static. Slowly, we change the geography scenario and we go deep into plain lands that allow us to ride our horses with more ease and increase the speed.

Days 7 to 10. Galloping on the sand and the Messum crater.

We move forward in the sand, in search for the tracks of those who came before us, leaving our own. How many have left their tracks in the same place we are leaving ours all along millions of years? The most ancient desert reminds us that we are no more than a grain of sand in time. We see the Messum crater, which was one of the greatest active volcanoes in the world millions of years ago. We reach the beach, where we have dinner and relax in a luxurious house only for us.

Day 11. Goodbye desert.

Farewell. We leave the dessert behind, or rather the dessert leaves us. We have made our way through this challenge, we have become someone else, we have become one with our horses, and lastly, we have become part of the desert. We will never be our old selves again. The take -off is from the Windhoek Airport after 3 pm.
